I had a friend in that production and she said Pearl would go into her nightclub act during curtain call. She said it got longer every night. One night, after about an extra 20 minutes of Pearl soft shoeing, the curtian came down and so did Pearl.
She says the cast stepped right over her and went to dinner.
She played either Ernestina or Ermengarde, which ever was the one that cried all of the time.
