Patti LuPone's enunciation was so bad, that Forbidden Broadway skewered her in Anything Goes.
I heard someone say once that Ethel Merman had the best enunciation. Now if she could have only gotten rid of that Astoria accent.

Although I love Patti LuPone, she is the queen of questionable enunciation.
Yes! My girlfriend doesn't really believe me when I say that. But even on the Sweeney DVD, it's evident. Her diction is good at times, and then she'll leave the last few letters off a few words, or slur it a little so you have no idea what she said.

Yeah I always noticed Lea Salonga's enunciation, especially during On My Own without/ a hope, without/ a friend, without/ a face to say hello to. It was rather irritating, but usually she enunciates beautifully.
That's a bummer that Stephanie was hard to understand. I always had trouble understanding the ensemble on the Wicked CD, but the soloists were fine, IMO; I had no trouble at all understanding the words.
For anyone still confused about the Little Women reference, I believe AndyF was saying that they OVER ennunciate and that is gets annoying. Is that correct, Andy?
the national tour of OKLAHOMA needs to enunciate too
I had no problem hearing everything Norbert Leo Butz sang/said in "Wicked". Some of the ensemble not so clear.
How is the cast of DRS anf Ave Q? Cause if I can't hear them then I'm gonna be pissed...

Stephanie was hard to understand in 'The Boy from Oz', too.
I agree about Patti. I love her, but she is really hard to understand. I don't think I understood a word she said at the Candide concert.
My seats are usually closer in orchestra and I had no trouble with Stephanie Block, Sutton Foster etc.
Those three words, Enuciate, enuciate, enucitate reminded me of my dad who was a little hard of hearing and told us were not speaking clearly and he would yell, enunciate, enuciate.
