Equity actors in NYC: It has been ages since I have gone to an EPA and I cannot remember the deal. Does sign up start an hour before the audition? And then it is the chorus call where the numbers are given out 1/2 hour before. Is that right?
Is anyone else going to the Gateway EPA audition tomorrow?
oh my. no one?
Yes Sherman - you've got it right - sign up one hour before an EPA, sign up on the list for a chorus call up to 7 days before the actual call, when the list is posted. Number cards are distributed according to the reading of the list and when all the names on the list have been read, if there are any remaining number cards, they will be given on a first come first served basis. Usually a line forms for people who's names are not on the list. The cards are given 30 minutes before the chorus call starts.
thank you redhot! I was pretty sure, but like I said I never go to EPA's anymore. they always feel like a big fat waste of time. But I feel inspired this week.
I've been attending them again the past couple months - starting to get back into the swing of things...I make sure and hit the chorus calls, though - according to friends, those are the best to attend because the Casting director for the production has to be there - at an EPA, it can be an underling from the casting office, because those are required calls and they're not necessarily casting - at least thats what I'm told. I go anyway - the more exposure, the better, if you ask me!
i like the chorus aclls too because they are so quick. Well, if you can get on the top of the list anyway. I figure if you kick ass at the chorus call, why won't they consider you for a principal. Are you going to Gateway tomorrow?
I don't have my book in front of me - what are they doing?
Full Monty, Sugar, 42nd St...
I am going for Monty because I just did it and they came to see our production of it.
None of those three shows are right for me so I'll skip tomorrow. Break a leg though - its totally worth your going!
