I know there was an earlier thread about this. I did a search, and although the thread came up, I was unable to access it. When I went to search again, the thread no longer appeared.
I received the CD last week and finally got around to listening to it over the weekend. I haven't listened to the LP in ages, as my turntable no longer works, but it seems like the tempo in the opening number, Shuffle Along was much faster on the CD than what I remember on the LP.
I have many fond memories of the original production and distinctly remembering Lynnie Godfrey making eye contact with me during one of her numbers (I believe my best friend and I were in the front row).
Who knew that Jenifer Lewis was a replacement in this show?!
I've been playing it non-stop.
I love ragtime and stride piano, and Eubie was a brilliant brilliant musician.
I would have loved to see the show.

The tempo is the tempo it's always been.
