Ever sell your tickets before a show?
#0Ever sell your tickets before a show?
Posted: 11/3/05 at 2:23amHas anyone ever saw your tickets before you entered a sold out performance and offered to buy them from you there on the spot? What was the show and did you sell them? How much did you get for giving up your already planned evening?

If you're talking about scalping, no. I don't have the heart to do that. Maybe because I hate scalpers so much myself.
I've sold extra tickets to the cancellation line. They were for Wicked, and we got the face value of the ticket.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

Posted: 11/3/05 at 8:35amI've sold at face value and miracled tickets before. I enjoy miracling tickets, though it depends on my current financial situation.

Posted: 11/3/05 at 10:51amI had someone offer me $500 for my balcony tickets to the Producers for the March 16, 2002 evening performance---I said no (it was the last evening performance of the Lane/Broderick duo---before they returned, of course!)

I sold one for Kristin and Norbert's last performance in Wicked. My friends and I (between buying better tickets day-of..or night before and some winning lottery) had some extras. I think what happened was I got face value for my $100 ticket, but I ended up getting a cheaper ticket to sit closer for obstructed view.
So, I didn't do anything illegal, but I did end up seeing the show for less money than I originally paid.
And one time I sold my "Dance of the Vampires" ticket to some tourists on the TKTS line for face value because I did not want to see it.

Posted: 11/3/05 at 1:36pmI usualy just give them away if I don't plan on seeing the show...but I usually get comps to shows, so I'm able to do that.

Posted: 11/3/05 at 2:41pmMy partner and I gave our two tickets (paid) to Good Vibrations to another couple. Not only did they break up shortly thereafter, neither one has spoken to us since. Be warned!

Posted: 11/3/05 at 11:11pmPlease don't think I was talking about scalping tickets, I was talking - okay, lets say you cannot wait to see "Lestat" and there you are ready to go in the night of the show and has anyone ever come up and tried to buy your tickets and for what price for you to sell when you had no intentions on doing so. This happened the first night I saw "Sunset Blvd." here in the U.S. and they were offering us 500 bucks cash for our two orchestra seats, It WAS tempting but we said no thanks. Stuff like that. I would it happens a lot, but only once so far for me at least.
