Anyone know if this is still in the works?
I don't know, but just as long as Mandy Pastinkin' is not part of it, I say BRING IT ON!!!!!

Obviously, at this point, Mandy's a little 'long in the tooth' for Che' - but having seen him in the original, I can tell you that VERY few performances I've seen in my time have matched the intensity and general bravaura nature of his. The audience was literally grabbed by their throats and pummeled by both he and Ms. Lupone. Incredible, thrilling - and the absolute essence of what live theatre is about.

I LOVE Mandy
People either love him or hate him
Mister Esparza is my choice for CHE
I loved the original. What a thrill it was seeing Patti.
I like the movie and would rather not see a revival of EVITA (at least for ten more years.)

If I'm not mistaken, I've heard that Mandy Patinkin is quite ill.

Wow, Dolly, I haven't heard anything like that - but I'm not exactly tied in to any circles that would know such things. That would be a shame, he's really pretty young.

He has Prostate Cancer...but thr word was they caught it early
Is tht not true?
Oh I hope he is recovering
Another vote for the lovely Mr. Esparza!!!
I wish Antonio could do it...reprise his loveliness from the film onstage...
Mandy is doing well. He's currently filming his second season of DEAD LIKE ME.

I'm not sure about an Evita REVIVAL. I do know that Evita is coming to San Francisco next season. Often when we get a show it then goes on immediately to Broadway even if it is an "old classic".

I saw Raul Esparza as Che 5 times. I think it was one of his first major shows, and it showed. He always seemed nervous, and his voice didn't always hold through. His charater was great, but I wasn't too found of him. But after hearing him in TTB.. Wow! His voice majorly improved from the times I've saw him live til that show. I think he's great great now.

Raul for Che! He would be amazing. Didnt Antonio Banderas play him in the movie? He would be good and would bring more people to see it. Who would be a good Eva?
Lauren Kennedy did a wonderful job and it's her name I've been hearing more than any other. Naturally I'd like to see Carol Channing in the role, but with her busy schedule I don't think it'll happen.

Lauren has history with the role too. She's done it regionally. I have a friend who saaw her and thought she was incredible. Me, personally, I liked Natalie Toro a lot, but I would like to see Lauren or someone else new.
I saw Lauren do it and she was spectacular. It really would be nice for them to not go the "Star" route with this role and give a performer the chance to really make it big.

Felicia Finley has also done it regionally at the Helen Hayes.

A friend of ours was in the ensemble, and he said it went over very well. Also, she was great to work with - and that goes a LONG way in my book!

I hope they include "The Lady Has Potential" from the original London concept (the white album)...it was effective in the film.
The are serious about a revival after WOMAN IN WHITE opens.
