I loved the show. I saw it last week through rush and I loved it. The performances were outstanding. Elena is a little fireball of energy, who can't always hit the high notes, but leads the show with raw authenticity and a winning performance. Ricky was good, surprisingly a lot better than I thought he would be. Michael is outstanding but I couldn't stop staring at his wig. Rachel Potter as the Mistress was an absolute star performance, as was Max Von Essen.

The set was lavish, stunning, and truly spectacular. And agreeing with a few others, I LOVED the ensemble. They had spectacular voices, and I was so close that I could truly hear each voice. The entire production was top-notch,

Maybe it's a British thing, but my gosh, I adored Elena Roger. Her voice is absolutely thrilling [and yes, shrilling too]. She sounds like I imagine Eva Peron really did when screaming political speeches into a microphone. I can't stop listening to her sing "A New Argentina", so much passion. I was stirred! Her vocals were only a let down in "Goodnight and thank you" when she was duetting, it was a bit threadbare and she kinda went a bit flat in Buenos Aires [she was dancing up a storm, and having heard Christina DeCicco - she also goes flat in Buenos Aires, too]. Her acting is top notch, I really believed I was watching a 15 year old girl at the beginning, her transformation was incredible. For me, she gave me a performance I will remember forever, in a good way.

Ricky Martin was OK. I didn't like his character choices [?direction] of being a bit too happy. The lyrics are so scathing and I really wanted Che to be angrier, but he wasn't.

Michael Cerveris was wonderful, as were Rachel Potter & Max von Essen. The scenic design and lighting were TOP NOTCH. I still get goosebumps when I think about the Buenos Aires reveal and the Balcony scene. WOW!!

I can't recommend Elena highly enough.

I saw the show last night and loved it/Elena. I think it's her authentic accent that misleads people. There is a truly great voice there
