In another thread, someone mentioned that subsequent productions of Evita used different endings besides the "Her body disappeared for 17 years..." ending that the original production and current revival uses.
Can someone with knowledge please explain those endings?

I always want to hear more. I mean, her body came back after those 17 years. I always felt the audience needed more closure, as that ending gives them none.

I liked the ending...it has an air of mystery about it. It made me want to read up on what actually did happen to Evita's body...and that is quite a story!
The final scene was re-staged several times during the original production's Broadway run. Prince kept tinkering with it.
Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!
I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
