Jim is an incredible individual. I met him when he was in Hairspray on Broadway, and we subsequently became friends when He came to Baltimore on the Hairspray tour. He is such a warm and enganging person. You just wnat to take him home with you when you meet him!
Great guy! I have always admired him, since I was a kid. From enjoying his great comedic acting on "Too Close For Comfort" to seeing how courageous he is--coming out in Hollywood, and today still maintaining a career in the entertainment industry, I'm really grateful to have him as a role model in both the gay community and the acting community.
I recently saw Jim in "Hairspray" playing Wilbur, and thought he was absolutely adorable. He was funny, in good voice, and sweet.
I'd love to see him play this role at the Neil Simon, and I betcha he could pull off Edna as well.
