Today it was announced that Lea Salonga's last performance in Once on this Island is June 24, and my friend and I currently have tickets for June 25. We have tickets for The Boys in the Band on June 18, and we were wondering if it is possible to call Telecharge and have them switch our OOTI tickets to the 18th and our TBITB tickets to June 25. Does anyone know if this goal is realistic, or will we be wasting our time? (Side note, obviously Salonga's replacement will be great and extremely talented but we still were hoping to see Salonga)

Posted: 5/9/18 at 1:07amIt is realistic - not definite, but realistic. They will tell you it is up to the show producers, put you on hold for a long period of time while they call the appropriate people, and then they will get back on the line and give you an answer. If you are allowed to switch, they will charge you for both new sets of tickets, and then once the charges have gone through, they will refund the two original sets of tickets. You won’t be able to just switch the tickets without any new charges/cancellation of the original charges.

I would also prepare for, since this doesn't require Telecharge permission, but rather permission from two different productions, so what will you do if for example ONCE says sure, they'll refund you, since Salonga will be gone, but BOYS says sorry, but no refunds/exchanges.
I'm curious. Keep us posted on what happened!

As others already noted, the ability to exchange will depend on the theatre. I tried to upgrade my seats to Angels In America last week for the same performances. Telecharge can't do anything (after being on hold for the longest time and a dropped call at that) and they had to contact the theatre. A day later I got an email that them saying the theatre can't do anything either. Had to resolve the situation in person at the box office. Turned out they had better seats and $20 less than Telecharge was asking - Row A, mezzanine, dead center. It's a hit or miss. Good luck.
