Prices for DEH are absurd now- premium tickets make up most of the orchestra- and for me- and this is just my own thing- I would rather not go to a show then sit in crappy seats. If I can't score tickets in the first 5 rows- I don't bother- would rather watch television or read.

Being in the first 5 rows to enjoy a show seems largely unnecessary. 3 of mine were in the orch, one in the back corner and it was still a great view. There are great experiences to be had in all sorts of seats, and all theaters and productions are different, sometimes sitting high to get the full-picture ends up being better. But it sounds like you’ve got money to burn and no patience. If you’re willing to put in a little research and patience, more affordable options are usually out there.
Was in and out within 2 minutes with 2 tickets on the date I wanted for $200. Very excited, process could not have been smoother for me!

Congrats! what time slot did you have?
11:30. I refuse to sit in the Walter Kerr balcony, so I went right for $200--that balcony is petrifying.

Oh really, what's wrong with it? Too high/steep?

Spoke to a Harry Potter usher who said he worked for 20 theaters. He said the Kerr was beautiful and all the mezzanine seats were great. The balcony seats look down on the action he said. Read elsewhere reviews for other shows at the Kerr where the balcony was set amidst the lighting equipment. This is the only thing keeping me from disappointment as I originally sought to get $75 seats and came up short, the cheapest I could find were $300 mid mezzanine aisle.
edit: balcony doesn't look that bad for springsteen from a pic I saw of Row B
I didn't hesitate to buy the $75 balcony seats. This isn't a normal Broadway play/musical. It's basically an acoustic Bruce Springsteen concert. People usually pay more to sit a football field's length away from the stage when he's performing in stadiums. The balcony is high up, obviously, but I'm still expecting to feel like I'm part of an intimate show. Here's an example of the view from the row A balcony seats:
