Have anyone seen it when the rivival was on Broadway or does anyone have the OBCR or the rivival recording? In was just wondering if it was any good...

FLOWER DRUM SONG
Thr original (based on a few incidents in C.Y.Lee's novel) has a simplistic but workable book. This version is heard on the OBC (Columbia/Sony) performed by a sparkling cast. The movie version tightens the narrative a bit and re-arranges the running order of the songs. It's still a long movie to sit through but the musical numbers make it fun. The movie cast can be heard on the soundtrack album (DECCA) which has some imaginative orchestrations. The 1960 London cast (ANGEL/EMI) is out of print and not really worth a hunt.
The 2002 revival cast (DRG) reveals a total rewrite but this story has even less to do with C.Y.Lee's novel. The performances are lacking in the proper feeling and the recording is to be avoided at all costs.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

Besides the choreography, Lea Salonga's "Love, Look Away" was the only thing worth seeing this show for. It had many bad elements and very few good ones.
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive.
"Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot."
"No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one."
Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

"I don't really get the ending,all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang,and later she kissed him on the toilet,after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung,and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen,and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady?Please help me,thank u very much!"
