SUCH A DELIGHT!!

I'm so glad I was able to see this film tonight as I missed the entire Broadway run (of no fault but my own, and I now regret it.)

Just such a wonderful story and truly amazing performances. There is really just no bad performance given in this film. The story translates very well to the screen although I could tell that some of the boys had a bit of a problem translating stage acting to film acting. The adults were able to adjust their performances and, while I did not see the stage show, I could tell some of the boys just did a toned-down version of a stage performance.

As a whole, the play lends itself to the screen nicely. It's definitely not what I would consider a "filmed stage performance" a la THE PRODUCERS. It's very much a film. And a great one at that.

If the film is near you...go see it. Even if you've seen the stage version, these boys are spellbinding.

I'm glad you enjoyed the film, it really is something people should see, whether or not they saw the play.

I hope the DVD release is soon.
