New York is supposed to be hit hard by the hurricane on Sunday. I don't men to sound cruel, but it won't be a good time to be going to the theater.

I have tickets for a couple of Fringe shows and as long as the subways do not flood I am there.

Regardless, for the sake of the entire east coast, I sure how Irene weakens and/or just turns East!

I was in the city for the monsoon type rain two Sundays ago, believe we got over 5", other then some huge puddles and getting soaked it was not too bad. There were some problems with the subways in the usual spots, but nothing near the theater district. Of course a hurricane will add high winds to the picture, so hopefully everyone batten down any loose items that can fly, especially the open construction sites. Keep your head up & walk close to the building lines to avoid getting splashed by puddles.

I'm thinking it might be best to park in the Marquise. It will be worth it to spend the extra cash.
