re: FOLLIES at the Kennedy Center in 2011?

Clark's "Losing My Mind" was terrific. Her whole performance was, the beauty of it was that she was as glorious in the book scenes as she was during her songs and she had great chemistry with Garber and with Murphy.
Though I couldn't move, speak, or think after Donna Murphy's ridiculously brilliant rendition of "Could I Leave You?"

RE Carlotta, I hope they cast someone around the same age as the four leads, she isn't a decrepit diva, she is a fading sexual beauty. Not that women in their 70s can't be sexy, but I think it plays better with someone younger. Encores! got it right with Baranski age-wise...if only she hadn't been so bad.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

Clark was a disappointment for me with "Losing My Mind," but she NAILED "In Buddy's Eyes." That was probably the greatest moment in the recent Encores presentation for me, along with "One More Kiss."

As for the 2001 revival, the vocals of Carol Woods and Gregory Harrison as Ben were the only things I'd ever care to remember from it.
