I read a book from Disney called "Fairest of All: A Tale of The Wicked Queen" and I personally think it would be great material for a musical. I mean sure it be a little like "Wicked" but I think it can still work. One of the changes is that I would give the Queen an actual name. If anyone has read the book wouldn't you agree? I mean Disney is looking for books and live-action movies to adapt for the stage.
Dream Cast:
The Queen: Idina Menzel
Snow White: A Newcomer
The King: Brent Barrett
The Magic Mirror: David Ogden Steirs
Verona (The Queen's Friend and Lady-in-waiting)-Elizabeth Stanley
Here's a brief story outline...
The Queen is the daughter of a renowned maker of mirrors who treats her horribly by telling her that she's not beautiful and blaming her for the death of her mother. She grows up unsure of her own beauty. She catches the attention and eventually marries the widowed King and becomes the stepmother to his daughter Snow White whom she loves as her own daughter. The King's three witchy cousins (a nod to Macbeth) are the creators of the Magic Mirror and the Spirit of the Mirror is that of the Queen's Father and serves as corrupting influence on her and contributes to her decent into wickedness ultimately leading her become the villain that she is in the film.

Casting Idina as the witch wouldn't make it seem less similar to Wicked.

The queen in Disney's Snow White is named Grimhilde, according to an official Disney app.
With a name like that who can blame her for going villain?
