This is new. On Telecharge, for Faith Healer, it says:
"Not recommended for children under the age of 13.
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted in the theatre."
I've seen "Children under 4 are not permitted..." before, but 13? Wow.
That's quite odd. Typo, maybe?
I saw the original production when I was very young (9 or 10) and don't remember there being anything wildly inappropriate about it. It's a little heady and involved for a kid, but not inappropriate.

There's nothing in the script that's specifically inappropriate for kids; but as a whole, it's definitely not going to appeal to children. It's long, there's no real action, no moving sets, etc. In short, it's not for anyone without a well-developed attention span.
Maybe they don't want all the little Harry Potter kids getting scared of Raplh
Where is this show playing? If they're banning children under 13, I'd better take advantage of it. :)
The Booth
Hum...interesting. I'm still dying to see it.

can someone give me a brief description of the plot?
From the show's website:
"Directed by esteemed British director Jonathan Kent (Hamlet with Mr. Fiennes, Medea with Diana Rigg), this deeply moving play tells of an Irish faith healer Frank Hardy (Fiennes), his long-time lover Grace (Jones) and his devoted manager Teddy (McDiarmid). The story of their touring and their fateful return to Ireland creates a mosaic that is both astonishing and riveting.
In this mesmerizing production that originated at Dublin's famed Gate Theatre, FAITH HEALER gives theatergoers the unique opportunity to see three of our finest actors on one stage and delights those who have faith in the enduring power of live theatre."
The link to the site is below. Check out the reviews from the Dublin run; they are all raves.

No children under 13?
Sounds great to me.
As I recall from reading the play long ago and trying to avoid spoilers, it is a story of issues about a blind woman's ability to become sighted, a tale told from three different, solo points of view.
Can they also ban adults over the age of 65 who like to speak loudly to each other throughout the performance?

Why limit that by age, Wanna Be A Foster?
