Why is Cherry Jones not a part of the pre-Broadway run?

Assuming because she was committed to Doubt when preproduction was beginning.

Isn't it in Ireland? The pre-Broadway run?

Yes, it's in Ireland. A couple of months ago, a friend of Cherry's posted on a message board that Cherry would not do the Ireland run of the play, only Broadway. She wanted to take a break. Plus her partner is in LA doing a play.

By the way, Ralph Fiennes was just dumped by his 61 year old girlfriend for cheating on her with a 31 year old. Cherry was invloved in a similar situation a couple of years ago whe she left her long time partner for a younger woman. Will the media have a field day with this when the production comes to New York?

I think it's better to call this an "Irish run," not a "pre-Broadway run."

I'll be interested in audience reaction for this one. I think it's a brilliant play, but it isn't at all a straightforward one, and the people who buy tickets to productions because they see names they recognize might be surprised.
