How do you think this would do?
I was just listening to a podcast of family guy. And seth is a big broadway fan and apparently only hasnt done it due to time??? He even said if he did a movie it would be partialy to have big musical numbers in it?
I think it'd be fun to watch, dont know if it would be better as a live or puppet. I'd prefer live myself. But could be funny :)

I would love to see a movie! But a live show...how could it work people I want SPECIFICS...

Posted: 11/9/05 at 2:33pmI'd love to see this go to Broadway but as of right now I have a hard time imagining how they'd do it. :-P But I agree with you Harris, it would be on hell of a dirty musical should they ever bring Family Guy to the stage. :-P

Posted: 11/9/05 at 3:15pmYeah, I agree. I just can't see it working well onstage. It would have to be a You're A Good Man Charlie Brown meets Avenue Q thing, and considering the genre, I just can't see it working out. It's just too smart of a cartoon for its audience to take seriously in live action form; it would just reek of Disney character costumes in theme parks.
Wanting life but never knowing how

i do think a family guy the movie, with a bunch o musical numbers inside could be pretty dang funny (he briefly mentioned that during the interview as an idea)
dont worry he seemed to strike down the "family guy on ice" idea though

Posted: 11/9/05 at 3:40pmI think the biggest reason this would never work is that Seth does the voice for every other character on the show. Aside from Peter, Stewie, and Brian, he does the voice for lots of cameo characters and what not. Same with Seth Greene....and Alex Borstein...and Nicole Sullivan....it's just...it's just not a feasible idea. Plus the premise and major comedy of Family Guy can't be coverted to the stage (constant bizarre flashbacks and cut-aways, and the like.) I'm much, much, MUCH rather see Seth create an original piece of theatre since he's obviously talented with musical comedy (both writing and performing) and has a great respect for it.

Posted: 11/9/05 at 7:18pmI agree. Id rather see him doing something original. I love family guy, but watching that new Stewie movie that came out, was a little overkill. It was hard to sit down and watch 2hrs of it, ya know? Still funny as hell though.

Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
