Friday on THEATER TALK at 12:30 AM on Thirteen, THEATER TALK bid a final farewell to RENT, the blockbuster rock musical, which ends its 12 and1/2 year run on Broadway, September 7.

We present an encore of our conversation with RENT's original leading lady, DAPHNE RUBIN-VEGA, and the all-knowing columnist, MICHAEL MUSTO of the "Village Voice," who discuss the impact of the classic show. Rubin-Vega reminisces about Rent's creator, Jonathan Larson, his tragic death right before the opening and the life-changing experience she and her fellow cast members experienced when the ground-breaking production became an international sensation.

Also on this week's THEATER TALK, a preview of BILLY ELLIOT with Elton John and the the new stars performing a scene from the international hit, which transfers to Broadway in the fall.
