Look, Insomniak. I don't mind your dislike of Jeremy. As a friend of mine said earlier, it makes things more colorful, and honestly, no one should dissuade you from your opinion.

The difference is, you seem to be the only one throwing it in people's face, when his name is mentioned. Its clear to alot of us that you don't like him, but it gets a bit old to hear it over and over, as I'm sure it gets old to non Jeremy fans when people gush over him. Just relax and go with the flow, like we all do when it comes to gushing, even if its over someone we don't like.

I'm sure you get tired of defending Adam Pascal to non fans after awhile.

Can we keep Adam out of this? I don't have the energy to argue on his behalf....

And insomniak, I love you dearly, but maybe they're kind of right. We hate when people constantly say how much they dislike Adam... so I guess... just keep that in mind? And hey, I liked Jeremy! He's no Adam, but I liked him.

I'll just put it out there now, that I have nothing against Adam. He was the original Roger and will always have a special place in my heart. So don't anyone think I was trying to start a "Lets Bash Adam" thread. Because I'm not.

No, no. I didn't think that you were - I was just worried that once the door was opened, claws would be released and the Adam bashing would begin. I just don't have the energy right now.

I'm curious, insomniak, what you've seen Jeremy in, and how many times? Not trying to start/prolong the argument about your opinion, just curious. I have a friend who didn't like his performance the first time she saw him onstage but is now a big fan. I've seen him in Footloose, Aida, and in Rent before, between, and after those other two. I also saw him in another show whose names escapes me right now because I've been up all night mourning the election results. I have always enjoyed him onstage. He's a fabulous actor, he's very professional, he has a beautiful voice, and he's one of the few non-OBC castmembers who has had a successful career outside of Rent. Interested in hearing the reasons for your opinion.

I love Jeremy too...he's a great actor, singer, and plays a very dramatic, angry yet funny Roger.

I hate playing the "how many times have you seen him" cards myself, but being someone who HAS seen him more than once, and having him grow on me so much that I now consider him one of my favorite Rogers, it does strike me odd that someone can dislike him as much as you do, insomniak. Not that you're not allowed to dislike him, because obviously you are. I'm just always intrigued when a popular cast member who is almost universally liked is so vocally disliked by someone, especially if that someone has only seen him once and is judging his talent and ability to play a role he's been playing for years by that one performance.

Of course she is. And like I said, I'm just curious as to how many times she's seen him. Mostly because I rarely like to base my whole opinion of an actor on only one performance, let alone base my opinion and mention it every time the performer is discussed. But for all I know, she's seen him ten times and doesn't like him, and that would be just as fine as seeing him once and not liking him. I just want to know which it is.

Well, if we're talking OBC - then Idina. Clearly. Why? Because I can. But if we're discussing any rent cast member - my heart goes to the current Maureen, Kelly Karbacz. She's the nicest person I've ever met at a stage door, period.

As for the other two:

1) Anthony Rapp, because his is the only OBC performance that I have yet to see or hear topped.

2) Kristin Chenoweth, because she is undeniably a better performer than Idina Menzel, and I respect that more than Menzel's formidable chops.

3) Kristin Chenoweth.
