I've never seen Anything Goes, but according to cast recordings I actually like Patti LuPone a lot.

Both were a lot of fun.

Glebb, you saw Ann Miller? Wow. I was supposed to see her, but she was hit in the head by something or other the night before, and the whole thing was cancelled. I'm very impressed.

Reno, the lesbian is my fav Reno.
but Merman was my Fav Reno Sweeney.
Ok I am Old
I liked LaPone
but couldn't decipher all the Porter Puns when she sang.

I've heard the following Reno Sweeneys-
Patti LuPone(Broadway Cast Recording)
Sally Ann Triplett(London Cast recording)
Ethel Merman(OBCR)
Rachel Stanley(Live in London)
Out of these 4, my favorite was Ms. Stanley. I was very fortunate to see her, as she was just an U/s for the role. She is followed by Ms. LuPone.

kjklo, before you get too impressed I have to let you know that I did see Ann Miller as Reno and I remember it well. I was still a kid in Miami though. I did not see her on Broadway. Many years later I met her backstage at the music center in LA. She was nice as can be. Very down to Earth.

I've heard a bunch of Reno Sweeneys, and I saw Sally Ann Triplett live in London, and out of all of them, my favorite is Patti LuPone. That recording of the show is my favorite.
