Oh, great, I forgot about "Could I Leave You?", "Losing My Mind", "Not While I'm Around", "I Read", "I Wish I Could Forget You"...
Basically, picking a Sondheim song that I don't consider my favorite is ten times easier.
Sweeney's Johanna without a doubt close second goes to Sorry Grateful from Company...also love Being Alive from Company and Little Priest from Sweeney and many many more
picking a favorite Sondheim song is like picking your favorite child.

There's no way that i could POSSIBLY choose. But the one that pops in my head the most for now is "Green Finch and Linnet Bird"
i adore "anyone can whistle." and maybe "the ladies who lunch..." and "joanna"

I don't know Sondheim nearly as well as many of you. That being said, the first two that I think of are:
No One Is Alone & Not While I'm Around
Not a Day Goes By
No More
Color and Light
We Do Not Belong Together
Another Hundred People
Not While I'm Around
A Little Priest
Anyone Who Whistles
Being Alive
Finishing the Hat
...that's all, for now
Any song from Follies
it changes constantly! but right now:
Every Day a Little Death
Could name 30 songs, but...
Balled of Booth
because it takes a figure universaly hated in American history, and makes you care about him.

Bobby was my hobby but i gave him up (he drove me crazy).
"Da doo da doo doo"
Donna McKechnie does a great version of this on her Inside The Music CD, i love it...

Not While I'm Around.
I think that one of the most perfectly written songs is "I'm Still Here". It has so many incredible images and layers that it's just phenomenal. And in the hands of an amazing actress the song could easily blow any others out of the water.

I love I REMEMBER (SKY) from EVENING PRIMROSE ( shown on tv). The melody is very haunting and the lyrics very evocative.
There is a Barbra Streisand version on which additional lyrics were written by Mr. Sondheim because it was made part of her second Christmas album.

Notice no one has picked "Send in the Clowns," perhaps his most popular?
My favorite? "Not a Day Goes By".
dear god this is hard... but my favorite is a five way tie between "Finishing the Hat" "Johanna" "We Do Not Belong Together" "Not a Day Goes By" and "Being Alive". all amazing in thier own special way.

Like potato chips, can't choose just one. So, all time favorites are:
Not A Day Goes By
I Remember
and yes, Send In The Clowns
I love so many but Children will Listen is one of my favorites because I'm a parent.
