I've not read any of these yet, so I'm looking for crowdsourced advice to see if anyone has favorites from this list or others? I need Fall reading.

Peter Hall's diaries are a good read.  Although I have mixed feelings about the shows that he directed, that I have seen,   I found myself engrossed in the Diaries. All about planning, running a theater and directing classics as well. Articulate and opened.
