The costumes for the movie of Mary Poppins.. That bright undercoat under Mary's coat... Unfortunately i've never seen one of his stage productions.. Hopefully one day though..

Love everything about Mary Poppins. It's practically perfect in every way.

Tony Walton also did sets for San Franscico Ballet's THE TEMPEST.

A strong tie between Guys and Dolls (talk about incredible!) and his '96 Forum set. Both were just spectacular in achieving what they needed to achieve (a perfect portrait of Runyonland and a wonderful playground for a raucous farcere: Favorite Tony Walton!)

Tony Walton is a genius. I don't think I could pick a favorite scenic design of his but LEND ME A TENOR, GRAND HOTEL, GUYS AND DOLLS, HURLYBURLY, THE HOUSE OF BLUE LEAVES, ANYTHING GOES, CONVERSATIONS WITH MY FATHER, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, CHICAGO (1975), and FOUR BABOONS ADORING THE SUN would definitely make my top 10.

Tony Walton's most current work can be seen at Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. He's designed and directed their new revival of 'Where's Charley?,' starring Noah Racey. If you go to www.goodspeed.org and click Press, you'll find some video of him discussing the show. (And if you're a fan of Noah's, like Walton is, Noah's new site is at: www.noahracey.cjb.net.)
