Fear of Posting!

I have been reading this message board for weeks and couldn't wait to register. But now that I have done this, I am finding that I am afraid to say anything (which is not usual for me.) Has anyone else felt this way when they started?

yeah sometimes i feel like I have to 'censore myself'. but then I just decided to say what I want to say, because I don't really know anyone on this board so why would i care what they think!?

My sarcasm often gets the better of me, and people don't understand it in person let alone on the internet. I don't feel like pissing people off so I don't post unless its an informative comment or a positive one.

I'm always worried my lack of knowlege of broadway musicals will make me look stupid. Thats why I only post on threads that I know I won't sound niave on.

I started off by joing the thread I have the most in common with and felt the safest. The main board scares me a lot. I actually lurked for 4-5 months before I joined because of how scared I was to post.

You should not be afraid of posting. After all there are at most probably about fifteen topics on this board, theses days, and people just keep repeating themselves in threads over and over again. Chances are you can keep answers handy because the questions will surely come back again. Like, What was your first_____? Who is the best________? Who will win _______? etc. etc. etc.

Not to mention a little fear never killed anyone - it means maybe you'll be a considerate and thoughtful member, and think before you post, instead of starting one of those ubiquitous threads that pab mentioned.

Excuse my french, but who the f*ck cares? Do you know these people? No. Do these people know you? No. Worst comes to worst a few people on the board won't like a certain thing you post. Life goes on re: Fear of Posting!

ts...don't worry about it...you'll post if and when you're ready...i've been a member just about as long as everybody here and i mostly lurk...just be yourself. welcome. i've started way more responses and posts that i've deleted than i've actually posted.

because at least one person here has serious shift key issues and will call you evil. Another person advised me to check out the faqs and fair play i did, i'm happy to report the will to live returned today which is a great boon to me and my family

I think if a person is very sensitive they may have a problem on message boards. Other than that, I see no reason not to post.
