Does Denzel come out and sign autographs at the Fences stage door?

He comes out, is very friendly, and shakes hands. However, he does not sign.

Really?? I have not heard of that except during BCEFA for A Steady Rain, where they were selling autographed merchandise for charity...

He said kindly if he signs for one person he'll have to sign for them all. Very nice guy.

hmmm...I would hate to start another argument about stage door stuff...but I still think if he were truly a "nice guy" he would take 5 minutes after every show to sign for fans who come out and support the show. Jude Law seemed to have no problem signing for fans....Again Mr. Washington may be a nice guy, but it isn't really a nice thing to not give the audience a few moments to sign a few playbills.

I saw him at the stage door regularly signing away after CAESAR a few years ago. It was a madhouse to end all madhouses.

5 minutes? If he were going to sign for everyone, it would take him like an hour and a half. Which I hear he did for Julius Caesar. I don't blame him for not wanting to do that again.

Well I didn't see the stage door group at Caesar (although I was in the audience)...so I'll take your word on it. At every show I have seen with huge stars, such as Hamlet, it never seemed to take longer than 5-10 min, but I am sure it could be longer. I dunno I guess I feel that however long it would take, it is really the right thing to do. As someone said, its when they stop asking for autographs that it is time for an actor to worry....I realize that people have MANY opinions for and against signing, and I respect that, but I guess I just feel disappointed when I see someone like Alice Ripley talk to every single one of her fans, Angela Lansbury in her 80s stand in the cold and sign autographs, and to hear that Denzel cant spare some extra time.......

Angela doesn't come out at all for ALNM. So you should be even angrier at her than Denzel!

hahaha I saw her come out in Blithe Spirit...I didn't know about ALNM...WHATEVER!
