Filichia goes gaga over the DRS score

And why not?

He practically trips over himself with enthusiasm for it, and is SO hoping it takes best score (even if he nit-picks, but he does so lovingly)

I do think there is nobody better writing about musical theater than Peter Filichia. Certainly there is nobody more passionate.

Cute article, and I agree with a lot of it. The lyrics of that score definitely get too cute for their own good, but Yazbek really knows how to write memorable hooks. And I wish Filichia had mentioned two of my favorite tracks- the power-pop parody "Love is My Legs," which managed to be just ridiculous enough to get laughs but not so much that we wondered how anyone would fall for it- and "Love Sneaks In," which was probably helped a lot by Lithgow's wonderful and sincere delivery.
