I was wondering if anyone knew how they create the tinker bell effect that flies around as the show starts, and also what they're using on their hands for the effect as well.

I'm sorry, but are you implying that you don't believe in fairies? Because if so, I'll have to ask you to clap your hands and leave.

I cannot answer to the effect in front of the curtain at the beginning, however, the device in their hands looked to be a small light bulb being switched on by the press of a finger -- a switch or small button.
