In another thread Miriam mentions that she would love to be on Broadway again, but there aren't many shows for 82 year young former dancers (aside from FOLLIES).
Well, folks, let's put together our ever-fertile minds and come up with a show that would be a fitting "welcome back" to our friend.
A musical version of ARSENIC AND OLD LACE is the first thing that comes to my mind. I think Eric McCormack would make a fine Mortimer. Which of the dotty Brewster sisters would you like to play, Miriam?

M.. If teh Weissler revival of Grease was still running, she would be the perfect age for Rizzo judging buy their casting, but yes, what roles are out there for her?? OKlahoma?
I second the book deal. I love her stories and tidbits.

There are worse things the Weislers could do.
ACTUALLY, I am pretty sure An Evening With Miriam would be an enchanting idea, just to have her regale us with stories.

Namo,
yes there are.. and we could name any number or star ames form that procution as examples.
A one woman show would be a wonderful idea. "Confessions of a Silver-Haired Gypsy"??
Could be done on a bare stage with a worklight, or how about a set modeled after a chorus room of Miriam's day?

A one women show! GREAT idea!
"Memories of Being on the Boards"? or maybe "If The Boards Could Speak?" Something to that effect.

Posted: 9/20/03 at 9:47pmHmmm...considering that Miriam was a dancer, perhaps SKIMMING THE BOARDS might be better.

No, hun. You're wrong there. Bea didn't do a one woman show.
Stritchey did a one woman show. Bea did a one MAN show.
