Posted: 11/6/09 at 8:52amI'm thinking of taking a 7-year-old to see Finian's around Thanksgiving and wondering about sitting in the front row of the mezzanine or balcony so that he has no one blocking the view in front of him. Can anyone advise me about whether are there bars across the front of the mezzanine and/or balcony that will block his view anyway, or if there are other reasons these are not good seats in the St. James? TIA.

Posted: 11/6/09 at 9:09amI sat in the first row of the Balcony for a preview. When you first sit down, it looks like it's gonna suck for sightlines, but then once the show got started I didn't notice any parts of the action that I'd miss. Most people were also able to move to get better sightlines. There is a bar there, but I can't recall it being a problem. With him being 7, you may be better off in the mezz because he's pretty much looking straight down in the balcony, which may cause him to need to lean.
