Posted: 7/14/04 at 4:58pmWhy dont we focus on ways to save shows rather than playing the which will close first game. I suggest more creative casting with name stars. Shirley Jones has given 42nd St. quite a boost! Joey Fatone needs a strong female star and that would greatly help LSOH. Wonderful Town needs someone more known outside theatre circles-Donna Murphy is great but almost unknown outside the theatre fan circuit.

Posted: 7/17/04 at 11:06pmit's really sad because all three shows are really solid great re-inventions of the old classics. I would miss them (*sob* *sob*). I hope Phantom or something closes first...

I walked out of Little Shop, Snow was so good, but Joey Fatone was lacking, really a safe and lackluster take on Seymour, Hunter was so amazing in the role..

Posted: 7/18/04 at 1:59amI don't see how Wonderful Town is only at 53% When I saw the show in February (a slow month for Bway) the entire Orchestra was full, and when I looked up the Mezz also looked very full as well. It is a good show and I liked it a lot.

Posted: 7/18/04 at 2:52amDid you go on a Friday or Saturday night? Most shows have pretty full houses then. The rest of the week is the problem. "Wonderful Town" has been operating at 50 - 60% attendance for most of the year -- it's unclear why or how it's still open.

Yes..LouW...I agree with you 100%
What is this sick fascination in talking about something that will put hundreds of theater people out of work? Why do any you feel the need to speculate what show is closing and when?
Isn't there a car accident you'd rather see?

Posted: 7/18/04 at 5:45pmHopefully Wonderful Town can limp along.....Little Shop is weak and "Anatevka Phase Two luxury townhomes" disguised as Fiddler...should have closed before it opened. Harrumph!!!

Posted: 7/28/04 at 9:09pmWell I guess we now know the answer to this one. I enjoyed Little Shop with Hunter but I don't think it was a very good production. Ohh well I am excited for the next show up in this venue!! Yay for Little Women and Sutton!
