Flyering?

I might be in the city this week and have some free time during the day I was wondering who I would contact about flyering for shows.
i see people all the time standing in time square handing out flyers and things for shows.
How does someone get to do that?

You have to apply for the job. It's a paying job and I doubt they would hire you for just a couple of days.

Oh Ok
I know some shows have like a street team thing
So I was gonna maybe look into that
Like I know Hair did something when it was on where like if u did 8 hours for them u'd get a free ticket
Do other shows do things like that?

That was only for HAIR. Every other person handing out flyers in Times Square works for 1 of several different Theatrical Promotion company. Those folks are actually trying to earn a living doing that. I doubt you could work for just a few hours, and frankly given how cold it is this time of year in NY, doubt you'd wanna.

Street team usually means flyering for or otherwise promoting the show. Like the other people here said, those jobs are very hard to come by and I highly doubt they'd hire you for a couple of days.
