Follies: Melbourne Australia

Follies: Melbourne Australia
John Diedrich, Philip Gould, Debra Byrne and Anne Wood will star in Follies.

Production Company 2008 Season Victorian Art Centre

The Follies cast reads like a who's who of the Australian theatre landscape - John Diedrich, Philip Gould, Debra Byrne, Anne Wood, Bud Tingwell, Kenneth Collins, Judith Roberts, Nancye Hayes, Monique Brynnel, Patti Newton, Melissa Langton and Judi Connelli.

Follies, which opens on July 16 at the Arts Centre, is a musical drama about a group of former “Follies” stars who return to the site of their former glory, the Weismann Theatre. The theatre is about to be demolished. Old wounds resurface as two Follies stars and their husbands reassess their lives and what could have been.

The season also features Damn Yankees and Mame

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

The only ones I didn't know were Kenneth Collins and Monique Brynnel but I've done my research and found out they're opera singers, so I guess they're playing Roscoe and Heidi.

I think this is Nancye Hayes' fourth FOLLIES in 15 years...different roles each time.

It's a pity we don't see Nancye more often on stage these days.

Based on past productions, no matter who they put in their shows The Production Company manage to bring a whole new meaning to the words mediocre and drab.

I must admit Alter that i have reservations about seeing this, as the last production ( 1990's ) i saw directed by Tony Sheldon was stunning in everyway.

I thought you said Philip Gould not Philip Quast.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"

Phillip Quast is based in London now, and I as much as I am sure he would come back to Oz to do a show, I doubt it would be for a short run show like the Production Company does.

Nothing really matters, anyone can see, nothing really matters, nothing really matters to me....any way the wind blows

Whoops my bad that is Phillip Gould, not Quast, as the poster above said Phillip is now London based and this is not worth him coming home for..
