Maybe she owed too much. But I think she just can't afford to maintain it on he own, and she's tried for years to open a permanent museum. She's almost 80 now, so maybe she's tired.
As far as "lesser known" stuff. Another "wow" just sold...
W.C. Fields' joke box---which was just a box with pieces of paper, jokes written on it, etc., valued at $3,000. Just sold for $35,000. I'll bet some rich comedian bought it.

The entire collection was valued at $10-20 million. I'll bet she makes close to $30 million today.
And I agree, Jay. I'm very sad to see it scattered to the wind.
I'm also very grateful that I got to see the whole thing when she had her hotel in Vegas, 15 years ago.

I hate it, JG2! Too many scripting actions going on with these ads.
On a lighter note: a couch from "The Good Earth," valued at $4K to 6K just sold in a bidding war for $20K. I love that movie.
