Just watched 'The Assassination of Richard Nixon' starring Sean Penn as Sam Bicke. A stellar performance (unlike that of Mario Cantone in the recent Mantello production at Studio 54) sheds a lot of light on the life. After some research, some of the facts portrayed in the film are a little off and some of it has been fictionalized (but it's Hollywood, so we forgive, right?). However, it really adds new layers to the side of Sam we just don't see in the Sondheim show.
Give it a rent, give it a watch. You'll enjoy it.

Haha, that's funny, I just got back from Hollywood video, deciding between that or Sideways. I chose Sideways, as I haven't seen it yet.

I thought this was a great little movie. Certainly a less comic take on the character than in Assassins. Penn, Watts, and Cheadle were all great.
