Gentle Piglet,

Please remember that I teach summer school in the NYC Public School System. My students are lucky if they can find their way home, let alone get rewards for doing well on their quizzes. These are kids who have no idea that Venice is a city of canals (and these students are in the 11th grade) and cannot comprehend the customary subject/verb agreement that is common form in standard English.
