That was awesomely bad. The best part was the end when he was thanking everyone, bowing and blowing kisses. Muahahaa. That cracked me up!

wow.
i'll never listen to that song the same way again.
it's amazing what people do when they can be otherwise doing something productive with their lives.

That kid cracks me up!! I LOVE him!!! hahahaha as to Melanie Burg- 'Wizard & I' was great, as she gets older and if she has more training she will be fantastic, shame about 'Someone Like You' tho, it was terrible and she sung the wrong lyrics!

that's crazy, but I LOVED it. for the first minute or so, I actually thought it was the kid singing. haha. but then I realized he was lip synching. the rainbow was kinda cheesy, but the clapping at the end was too funny.

Melanie Burg is one of my best friends. That video was taken at the Westchester Teen Idol competition in Irvington (she won). She is truly gifted and I don't doubt someday she'll be up there with Idina and other b-way 'divas.' Right now she's about to be Cassie in our school musical A Chorus Line. Anyhoo that's awesome that that video gets around.

Same to what StateofJade said, Melanie is my life, she unbelievably talented and amazing. She would make me cry when she sang when I was 10.
Now I just hope the embaressing videos of myself on you tube don't get out.

bohemianqueen, i would love to try to see you belt that high and sound that incredible. go try to sing that song and tell me how you sound. she may not have sounded her best but it still was GREAT! i can tell that she must be amazing. Her "somone like you" i personally think was amazing. she has the acting down perfect. her voice is unlike anyone else i have ever heard. she sounds like she has a great soprano, as well. she should be famous this instant. She is right up there in the talent department with Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, and Eden Espinosa. Shes beautiful. Shes the whole package and i will not be suprised if above WICKED there lay the name Melanie Burg with top billing.

Yep, she does have any amazing soprano, in fact, that's what she does. You should hear her musetta's waltz.

Umm I am gathering you are still at highschool by that immature response - everyone has their own opinion, and you are likely to be more biased as she is a friend on yours. I didn't like 'Someone Like You' and I have every right not to! As I said, her song from 'Wicked' was fantatic and she has a great voice and range, but she is also still young and her voice has a long way to go - a female doesn't actually reach her vocal peak til the age of 35. I believe in time this girl will do great things, she definately has the talent, but her other song was much better that 'SLY', if you listen to the styles as well the Wicked song suited her voice type and range better also. and as she is still young her voice is going to sound different when she sings different songs regardless of the range. As to 'I'd like to hear you hit the notes...' etc... just coz you are in highschool doesn't mean everyone who posts on this board is and I can indeed hit those notes, actually most of the female singers i have worked with can hit those notes, but I also have a good 15 years on your friend and have been working professionally for over 20yrs all over the world so don't be so quick to judge or jump to conclusions - and I never said your friend was crap and yes she did sing the wrong words!

It makes me sad when young teenagers belt. It is so not good for your voice, especially BROOKLYN and Wicked's style.
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

Um, homeboy can lip-synch.
He's got Eden down perfectly.
As for Melanie, Wizard is... good.
But I don't see the hub bub.
It's a bit strained, and squeeky especially at the end, and she's very tight.
And her voice is pretty mundane, compared to the Edens and Shoshos, and Idinas, but she does sounds great.
But her voice, and way of singing are pretty run of the mill these days.
You have a lot more than just a good voice and high notes to make it.

Personally, I think I have too much bloom.
