You know, I was kind of demystified as well. Dilly is a great talent, for certain, but I am not sure she would have been nominated in the category if there were other female leads in any other show on Broadway that was not alreayd nominated...and that wasn't in Brooklyn!

Yes on Tony nom. Gorgeous voice and great stage presence, wonderful actress.

Saw it, thought she was OK, but not Tony quality. Raul deserved a nomination if she got one! He did a great job.

I thought Erin did a great job with a pretty blah part. She's adorable and has a beautiful voice, but I was surprised that she got the nomination. She's giving a great performance, but not one that I really felt was Tony nomination worthy. I think she sort of got it by default; lead actress in a musical isn't that strong of a category this year. After Foster, Applegate, Clark and Scott, you're basically left with Gambatese and Reinders (both in jukebox shows, so obviously small chances), then Errico (I'd have been even MORE surprised if Dracula had gotten the nod) and Dilly. So, go figure.

Their leading man on the other hand... ughhhhh, so mad. re: For anyone who has seen Chitty ...
