First and foremost, congratulations to everyone who went!!! You all are ridiculously talented and so genuinely friendly and it was awesome "being an 'us' for once instead of a 'them'"
That said, I was wondering if any of you guys could help me out:
I'm trying to find the name of piece performed at closing ceremonies about playwriting. If anyone can help out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!
Can anyone help out?
I'm trying to make a scrapbook for the graduating seniors and I'd like to have the play so I can use exact quotes
I was a Senior last year and went to state but sadly moved on to a school where its like state competition everyday lol. I was in District One (Troupe 4105). I was in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change at state last year and this year I belive my school brought Runaways as a one act. State was good times :) I hope you had fun!

i didnt go to states this year but i do attend the school new world school of the arts which brought our powerhouse number "a chorus line" but hopefully i will be attentding next year.
I can't help you out, but did you see Cypress Lake perform 'It Sucks to Be Me'? That's my school!
WesternSky2 & wicked4life51, your schools both did excellant jobs performing two of my all time favourite opening numbers.
I also have to give shout outs to Troupe 3039 for making me actually enjoy one of my least favourite musicals (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and to Troupe 3502 for THE BEST high school production of ANY musical I have EVER seen (Beauty and the Beast) and a special shout out to my new friend from the Planet Smoothie line, Philip, for a kick "astrick" Be Our Guest

Hey I was there. Congratulations to everyone. First off, my school, troupe 5880, did the one act Soap Opera. If you saw it, please replay with your opinion. Second, I believe it was called Playwrighting 101. Also, check your program as I think it was from either ensemble acting b or c.
Hey B-Way4Life
I'm sorry I couldn't see your one act but I'm sure you did terrific
I tried to check my program but "Playwrighting 101" was actually part of opening ceremonies and they moved it to closing because it was astricked
I will check out to see if that's the title though
Thank you so much
my school got critics choice for STOMP.... districs 8 troupe 5744!
Omigosh, you guys were awesome at closing ceremonies
Just found out, Playwriting 101: The Rooftop Lesson
thanks for your help guys

FL Competitions are so rigged. It's a joke.
District 4, this girl performed "All Grown Up" from BARE: A Pop Opera. Okay 1) The music isn't out 2) the show never opened off-broadway. And my favorite. "Get a Load of Toad". They say you can't go against gender and yet Frog and Toad were played by girls. So fair. Oh so fair. I knew I should have sang "The Wizard and I".
just out of curiosity..how did troupe 4990 from district 10 do? ive been out of high school for a while, but i still like to keep up with what my school does. thanks for any info.
Hey ColumbiaMT!!
I was a senior at state last year too and my friends and I tried so hard to go see you guys in "I Love you.." but we got the door slamned in our faces. They put you guys in the small theater I'm sure it rocked! I was in district 5 troupe 4848. I was in the "Gods Love Nubia" during the opening ceramonies.

Was not there But my cousins were.... Troop 1589 I think... western High anyone know how they did!! thanks
I was at the festival too and I had a wonderful time. In regards to 4990, they are in my district and swept all the critics choices, and even won critics choice for their scene, "the serpent." But they did not win anything at the state level.
b-way4life. I saw a soap opera. A wonderful pieve. Who did you play in it?
I even got a critics choice of my own for publicity.
Congratulations to everyone who attended.

No, they didn't. The shows this year were Joseph..., Big River (which was amazing), A Raisin in the Sun, The Bald Soprano, Suessical, and Beauty and the Beast.
i went lastyear and was in openning night ceremonies (i was brian in Avenue Q). Letting you guys know it is possible as long as the show has a BMI # (trust me i know it was hard as hell last year with no sheet music). But, it is possible. Did anyone see anything from 08-1298? please tell me how they performed (my old drama teacher told me they got like 7 superiors and an excellent (we had 10 things go to state)
How did your troupe get to bring ten things?
5 performance
2 mime
1 playwrighting
1 directing
1 one-act
yep im a proud alumni
