In both of these there is a clip of Rosario wearing a blue dress looking over her shoulder into the camera. In the sneak preview of "Rent" that aired during "Nip and Tuck" last month the scene is shown and Rosario is alone. This same exact scene is also in the new "Out Tonight" video but with people walking on either side of her. The way it looks on the video it seems the "people" were digitally added to the scene.
I just thought it was interesting with all the computer generated images in movies today. This is definitely a good example of how it's done.
Anyone here who has both the video and the sneak peek give it a look and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I love that pic of Rosario. I think the picture you are talking about is the Oscar promotion poster (or whatever you call it) for the movie. I sort of object the idea of using computers too much to promote RENT because that really isn't the style of the show. But maybe they have to because its the movie. Whatever it is, the movie is gonna be great!
I'm wondering if she's not supposed to look like a slightly unreal image in the scene I think you're talking about, Marquise. That's the "Mimi, I see you... your eyes" line in What You OWn.

Ya, she looks like an oil painting in the poster. Very pretty.
I'm not talking about a poster!
Did you read my first post?
I'm talking about an actual scene from the movie that is used in both the TV sneak preview trailer and the Out Tonight video.
She's wearing a blue dress, she has a shoulder bag and she's looking over her shoulder (presumbaly over at Roger). In the sneak preview clip she's all alone but in the Out Tonight video they show the same exact clip only there is now people around her.
It looks as though the people were digitally added to that scene.

I agree with Emcee, Mimi is just a vision that Roger thinks he sees, so I think they were trying to make her look like she's the unreal part of the scene, as opposed to the people being unreal.
That's the effect I think they were going for. She's there and then the people around her appear also. You can actually see the effect better in the Out Tonight video. It looks very surreal.
ha! Now that you've clarified, Marquise, I never noticed that! There weren't people there in the first place! I thought you were saying the people looked edited.

Oh yes, stupid me I know what you are talking about now. When he is playing his guitar and he sees her in the crowd for a second. I thought Mimi was wearing jeans and a light blue T-shirt? It sort of confused me. Nevermind me then.
Yes CrazI that's the scene I am referring to.
I love that shot of Adam and the guitar.
i love any shot of adam and the guitar :)
I love any shot of Adam.
