I haven't seen the show but I'm loving the new recording. Kristin sounds incredible and at many moments she's positively sublime. In the second act Lily has an internal monologue during the Sextet/Sign Lily Sign number and I think that's where she is at her most sublime. My question is, does the audience applaud between her singing "Together he and I" and "Hey Lily, Stop! Be Smart"? See below.
Deep sweet old feelings
Wild long lost longings
He and I here we are together
Every sign warns me
Every breath cries beware
But I don’t care!
Since we parted, empty days
Made up what I’d call my life.
Now he’ll fill those empty days
From now on and all my life together.
Together he and I.
Together he and I.
APPLAUSE HERE ??????
Hey Lily,
Stop! Be smart!
Say no, you can’t go back
To long ago.
You can’t go back. etc.

It's all part of the same song; the audience doesn't applaud at the brief pause.

That reprise of Together is one of my favorite moments in the show, so I agree with you that it would be hard to hold back. Kristin is wonderful.

When I saw the show Friday night, there was a lot of applause there. but it may vary per performance, I suppose.
