Found some 'old' South Pacific sheet music

So I found a copy of Some Enchanted Evening in my piano things and someone wrote in pen "W.J.C. 12/30/49"

I feel kind of dumb for asking this, but what are the chances that it really is that old? It's pretty faded and I know that '49 is the year that it opened. Is it even a big deal? Don't mind me, I just like collecting things, especially old things so I thought it was interesting.

I have some of the original "South Pacific" sheet music, too. I think it's fabulous that you found that! It very well may be from 49.

Now, it's not all that rare, given that it was a smash hit show and virtually every song in the score was a Hit Parade hit. But still, you don't find these in a piano every day.

That's very cool! Have it framed! Whole library archives have been built on one piece of sheet music!
