Who here has seen it? I'm a moderate fan of his work, and when I heard the selections on his website, I was quite impressed. Where would I be able to find a CD? Further information? Someone's lucky experience? It looks wonderful. He could've had an amazing success with it

Also, according to his biography, he's working on an Alice in Wonderland musical with David Copperfield. Who else thinks this will be the most insane show ever?

No, there is none available. Which forces me to question: 'where do the sound-clips come from'?

There is nor CD. The show was produced once at the Allecy Theatre in Houston, TX (also home of the premieres of Jekyll and Hyde and The Civil War). There is a demo and a bootleg of the performance floating out there somewhere. It was a huge bomb. The set consisted of blocks, screens and projections. Linda Eder played Trilby and Chuck Wagner tromped around in cowboy boots as Svengali. I think the only kind thing anyone had to say about the production was for the song "Vienna"

You'd have to research the old reviews. It was not a financial flop because it was a repertory theatre with subscribers, but the reviews and word-of-mouth were not good. The previous premiere of Jekyll and Hyde was extended numerous times and garnered national attention. Svengali fizzled out after its initial run and was never heard from again.

flop or not....Svengali has some beautiful music. Vole Mon Ange, sung by Linda (an operatic-type number)is very, very lovely. It's also on her "Storybook" album.
