Hey everyone,
For anyone living in/near NY who might still have an Ohio license/ID, or any tourists heading in to the NY in January, here's a deal you may not have heard about, depending where in Ohio you live.
"Chicago Loves Cleveland." Not Chicago the city; "Chicago" the musical. Show up on any Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday in January at Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.) with a government-issued photo ID proving you live in Ohio, and you get in free that night.

Why just Cleveland? Why not people from, oh I don't know, Chicago?

Because ad exec Nancy Coyne stated in an interview "We hate tourists from Cleveland" and "I think New Yorkers will come out for [plays] once the tourists go away." Clearly in this day and age you can't say something like that and not have it spread around the internet pretty much instantly.
About 84% of the 12.3 million who saw a show on Broadway last year were tourists. Michael Bloomberg quickly responded saying "Tourism is the life-blood of our economy. New Yorkers are as welcoming as can be."
I admit that I do believe Coyne's apologies. She clearly opened her mouth without thinking. And I appreciate the Weissler's attempt to outclass her, especially since her agency does not even represent Chicago (and yes, it may not necessarily be Fran and Barry's idea, but they are the most visible of Chicago's producers, so I'm just using their name).

Oh, thank god. I thought I was the only one who noticed that awful comment.
What a classless ho.
