I see that Baby, It's You will start Friday matinees next month. What a fantastic idea in my book. I always liked going to London for a theatre week when you could see two shows most days as there were matinees from Tuesday through Sunday, although recently it seems to be headed more towards the Wed and Sat matinees only thing. Are Friday matinees a possible trend that we could see happening more in New York?
Book of Mormon had been planning to do Friday matinees during the summer. I would love it if more shows did non-Wednesday matinees. I work a pretty standard show schedule and when I'm running a show, I get a little bummed that I can't see other things. I also like visiting London where you can see about 10 shows or more in a week. It just takes some producers who are willing to experiment and break with the norm. I wish Book of Mormon were still doing it because it could lead the way for other producers to try the same thing. It took some people trying out the 7 pm curtain on Tuesday nights thing and now most shows have followed suit. I'd be very glad to get some non-traditional showtimes so I can still see things when I'm on a show schedule!
