I enjoyed It's a Hit. It's a very campy and over the top whodunnit comedy which is set backstage at a theatre. Lots of little jokes to get if you are a musical theatre fan.

Grace Fall was umm... interesting. I have to say that I did enjoy it while at the same time finding it slightly bizarre. Part epic folktale, part comedy, part dance musical. It's very random.

Peronista...don't go to TRADITION! It's awful. There's not a single snippet of music or dialogue from FIDDLER (probably a rights issue), which in and of itself dooms the show. The characters just TALK about how the show is getting revised, botched, etc. Where's the humor in that? Plus, characters say and do things inconsistent with how their personality had already been developed, and some stuff doesn't even make sense (why do the parents come to rehearsal in the first place?). It's also way too long, and they have the nerve to announce "5 minute stretch" instead of a regular intermission. Uh, ever hear of editing???!!! A very amateurish production, and frankly there are too many like it in the Fringe.

And surely they realize that any changes to a show have to be approved by those controlling the rights. Obviously, Fiddler's creators would never allow the changes and cuts they discuss. So the whole show revolves around a complete impossibility.

And what was the point of the obnoxious agent? If these actors accept work in a rinky-dink barely legit theater, would they even have an agent, let alone one who acts like he wields so much power? And wouldn't the gay guy be closeted -- or at least not flamboyant -- in such a conservative community? See, nothing even makes sense!

Sorry if the rave post was by someone involved with the show (the promotion-ness of the post makes me suspect it was). Sorry to insult you, but your show needs major work.

Much to my horror I realized I misspelled BOARD. Yikes!!!
Thanks for these suggestions. Oh my, such disagreement on TRADITION.
Well, it's all good and healthy debate and clearly why these festivals are so important.
Thanks a lot everyone.

that is all.

		     			No profile, no taste, hmmmmm
No, I am NOT involved in the show, I just enjoyed it and was providing info listed so others could enjoy it as well.
I agree it needs some tweeking before it is worthy of a long run, it is FANTASY not to be taken literally. Do I hear you wondering if Elphaba would REALLY melt or if CCBB could REALLY fly?
Perhaps you need to realize that Fringe is a springboard not the finals.
Maybe you should contact the author and let him know how unbelieveable his made up story is? Geez, lighten up, you may actually enjoy some theater then.

		     			elimeyer...

Oh please. That is such a cop-out. So no made-up story should be believable?

Wicked, in case you didn't notice, is a fantasy, as it involves witches, talking animals, magic spells, people and animals flying, etc. etc.
If you're using Wicked as a comparison, it shows how ludicrous the story of Tradition. And not good ludicrous--as in, wackily funny. Bad ludicrous--as in, STUPID!

How dare you say I have no taste. Because I didn't like a show you did? Because I didn't post a profile? There's some more of your sound logic, I see.

Saw Air Guitar last night. what a pitiful piece of a show. the talent isnt ok, but the directing is just crap. no sense of how to stage a show at all. and lets not start with the music. i was so disappointed.
Saw Infliction of Cruelty as well--well produced and directed, the play itself is a talky and ultimately unengaging story though I think this production is probably the most exciting one that this play will ever have.
