From the BWW news desk:
"The company of 27 also includes: Heather Ayers, Jim Borstelmann, Paul Castree, Jen Lee Crowl, Jack Doyle, James Gray, Amy Heggins, Eric Jackson, Kristin Marie Johnson, Renee Feder, Matthew LaBanca, Kevin Ligon, Barrett Martin, Linda Mugleston, Christina Marie Norrup, Justin Patterson, Brian Shepard, Sarrah Strimel, Craig Waletzko, and Courtney Young..."
Will Mugleston, the epitomal understudy, cover Mullally?
The logo looks like a tacky rip off of The Producers' logo, but that's okay. The cast looks wonderful. Can't wait!
I love Sutton, hope she'll do very well :)
Any news what Theatre the show will go to?
I know St.James was a candidate but I know The Grinch will be occupying it in October/November I think.

With a wealth of strong, female roles, it's only fitting that Linda Mugelston be in the company. Fair to say she's the understudy for Sutton and Megan.
Always the bridesmaid...never the bride.
I don't think Mugleston would be able to understudy Sutton, Yankee. She's a bit long in the tooth for Igna.
If anything, she's understudying Mullally and Martin (though my suspicion is that she'll just be covering the role of Elizabeth.)

I meant Andrea Martin! Senior moment.

I was about to start a thread on that. I think she'd be understudying Martin for sure.

Please let them get a new logo before the show opens. That looks awful.

Somethingwicked, I had the same thought as well- that she'll understudy Megan.
Let the fight for the Tonys begin!
Which categories will each performer be placed in? I'd say...
Leading Actor in a Musical: Roger Bart
Leading Actress in a Musical: Sutton Foster
Featured Actor in a Musical: Shuler Hensley, Fred Applegate, Christopher Fitzgerald
Featured Actress in a Musical: Megan Mullally, Andrea Martin
Understudy Joined: 6/16/06
I'm very excited to hear that Justin Patterson will be in this, he is an amazing actor and he will most likely be an understudy for several parts.
I highly doubt Mullally's role will be considered Featured, especially when it was written for Chenoweth. Supposedly, Brooks had written quite a few songs for Chenoweth, not sure if the role stayed the same size after her departure but I just don't think Mullally would have taken a featured role on Broadway.
Agree the logo looks like a total rip off of The Producers... amazing cast. Very exciting!

What logo are you talking about?
Huh... the logo for the show we're talking about in this thread... pay attention!
LOL

I hope Megan is considered featured because as of right now, that'd (hopefully) guarantee her a spot for the Tonys, but maybe she might get nominated as leading. I just can't wait to look back at this in 11 months and think "what the hell were we thinking?"
Though the role of Elizabeth was almost a cameo one in the film, it has been beefed up considerably for the stage version (Brooks himself referred to it as a "huge, huge part now" when discussing some of the changes he made for the theatrical adaptation in a recent interview.) This would strongly indicate Mullally will be placed in the Lead Actress category.
Such immense upsizing in material for Elizabeth would indicate (in my mind) a downsizing of sorts for Inga. Foster has at least one number of her own (built around the "roll in the hay" segment of the film,) but my guess is she'll be placed in Featured (along with Martin.)

I'm so happy for Paul Castree. I took my musical theatre students to New York on March 30, 2007 and we had a workshop with Seth Rudetsky and Paul Castree. Paul was in the process of auditioning for Xanadu. Well, I knew he didn't get that, so I am glad to see he has been cast in Young Frankenstein. I'll have to pass that info along to my students. :)

I'd love for Sutton to have an amazing featured part that's stable where she has a better chance at receiving recognition for her work then if she had a leading part that was kinda the Carmen Bernstein (Curtains) of the show...if that makes sense?

I guess Megan is leading because they list her before Sutton in the FULL CAST announcements on all the websites?

It was what?
It does look like a good cast. If I can see it in Seattle I will say something but I'm probably biased, I like the story and think Sutton is just great so far.
... have to check out that logo though. Why don't they offer us contests for these kinds of things? The logo is very important!!

I like the logo. I think it's a good mix of a sort of in-your-face monster movie and showy Broadway lights. Oh, and check out the official site for a good view of the logo. The logo looks better when it's glowing up against a castle interior than when it's up against WHITENESS.
