The Entertainment Specialist (Puppet Design/Fabrication and Crafts), in conjunction with senior management, contributes to the creation of entertainment product based on strategic plans, operational processes, and financial targets.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Participates as an integral contributor to the Entertainment Costuming and Crafts Department.
Executes Park, Show and Event Puppet and Crafts Projects as assigned.
Collaborates with Entertainment Production/Operations, Theatrical Services and Theming teams to achieve project goals and objectives including fittings and dress parades.
Closely works with the Wigs and Make-Up Specialist to achieve collaborative design.
Works with outside Costuming and Crafts contractors as assigned.
Works with the Costuming and Crafts request process.
Works with Costuming and Crafts Project timelines to ensure park and departmental goals and objectives are obtained.
Works with Costuming and Crafts supplies, equipment and systems.
Maintains the quality assurance of the Costuming and Crafts product and support areas.
Follows department and park safety guidelines.
Participates in Costuming and Crafts department training programs.
Participates in other duties as assigned that support park and departmental goals and objectives.


Candidates with the following qualifications will be considered:

Proven artistic skills; strong communication skills; positive attitude; team player; collaboration skills; problem solving skills, organization skills.
BA in theater or equivalent experience preferred.
Training or work experience in Puppetry Design and Fabrication, Specialty Crafts Design and Fabrication, Costuming, Fabric Arts, Sketching, Pattern Drafting, Cutting, Sewing, including design interpretation required.
Theme park experience preferred.
Experience with the following required:

* Puppet/Crafts build materials
* Puppet/Crafts build equipment
* Fabric, trims and notions
* Costume Shop Hand Tools
* Computer Programs

Valid VA Driver’s License required.
