Michael Winther (the cutie in my icon) keeps his pyjamas on all through the show. But the songs he sings about being a gay man in New York (one lyricist : Mark Campbell, eighteen young new composers) are emotionally naked -- and funny and haunting. I'm as obsessed with this lovely show the way the the "Shizkidz" are with WICKED, the "Piazzees" with THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA (Adam Guettel was there earlier this week) and the "Q-tips" with ANENUE Q. I guess you'd call me a "BedBug" - Saw it last night, seeing it tonight AND the final show on Sunday.

Geez...this is false advertising :)

Just like on eBay or in the store when someone says something is free or 'like new' just to get you look at it.

I'm surprised at you, Master. Did you get your training as an author from the National Enquirer or The Star.

Man, LcZ, you must really like this show! Unfortunately, I was procrastinating, and now the fact that it is closing early will prevent me from seeing it. I would love to see it be recorded, but I doubt that will happen. What a shame.

MelissaFan, I spoke with Mark Campbell last night - he told me it will PROBABLY get recorded (he just needs the approval of all eighteen composers). There are so many heartfelt songs in it that people will be recording for a while (And "Exit Right" is destined to bne a cabaret favorite, though I don't think anyone will top Michael Winther's hysterical calistenics and facial expressions)

One of my favorites is the haunting and jazzy "Perfect, Finite".

(Oh, SamIAm!...false advertising? Hmmm. But I maydja look, right? )

I did not know his work before seeing this show, but wow - The man sings like an angel. He's an incredibly sweet man offtage as well.
